I just love the Wizard of Oz. It is a beautiful movie with many spiritual undertones.

“If I only had a heart” makes me wonder…and just when did the Tin Man lose the connection to his heart?

Did he lose it when his parents told him to toughen up?
Did he lose it when he was bullied or made fun of?
Or did he just lose it because no one saw the gifts he had to offer the world?

Connecting with your heart is the key to a joyful life. Letting your heart, your intuition, guide you is what turns life into a magic carpet ride. In my books, children learn to connect with their hearts. If you ask your heart a question, the answer will come to you. Your heart knows the way to the truth. Parents can help children connect with their hearts with this simple practice.

So don’t let your children end up like the Tin Man searching for their heart!

Chug, chug, chug! Puff, puff, puff! I think I can, I think I can!

“The Little Engine that Could”…that was my favorite book when I was five and I remember the words like it was yesterday. Those words define how I live my life to this day. So you see, it does matter what you read to your child.

Did you know that positive thinking is a habit and gratitude is the key to a joyful life? In my books children learn to connect with their hearts, think positively and to express their feelings.

Life is a rainbow, look and see. Colorful, exciting, warm, and inviting. Joyful and fun.

Gratitude is a sign from above that we are all connected through rays of love.

Love is the moon, the stars, and the sky.

These are some of the words in my new Spiritually Savvy Kids book series. My intention with this series is to give children the tools to live a more peaceful life. It’s all about balance in this overprogramed, high tech world that children live in. My books remind children to listen to their hearts and to find joy in their daily lives. The fun doesn’t stop after you’re finished reading the story! Each book has a page to help parents instill these values through activities and tips.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey

I woke up this morning singing that song-remembering my mom singing it to me often so many years ago. She has been gone for nearly 30 years but when I sing that song I can still feel the vibration of love that she gave to me. I recently heard my sister Terry singing it to her new grandchild, Wylie.
Seeing her dance around with this new baby brought back so many memories of watching my mom do the same thing with my brother Eddie. I don’t think she realized then the value of what she was teaching us by singing to us.
Recently, I attended my nephew Jared’s wedding. It couldn’t have been more beautiful; everything was perfect the venue, the band, the food and the ceremony. Yet there was something else, a special feeling in the room that day. As I looked around at my six siblings and my 20 nieces and nephews I felt it… I felt the vibration of love, my mother’s love in the room that night. And I got the message loud and clear that when you vibrate love to your children it continues on years after you’re gone from this planet. It still vibrates through your children to the next generation and beyond. So whether it’s playing a game, going for a walk, helping with homework or sharing a meal together, take time to vibrate love. In the end that’s what matters most… that we feel loved.

You’ll never know dear how much I love you
Please don’t take my sunshine away…
